Viva Rosita! Brooklyn’s hometown girl made good on her promise to entertain her fans on Saturday, July 21, as she defeated TNA Knockouts legend Gail Kim in front of thousands of supporters at MCU Park.
Kim and Rosita, who was joined at ringside by Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg, did battle as part of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling’s annual “Basebrawl” event. The Brooklyn show was the pro wrestling company’s biggest non-televised event of the year, according to TNA officials.
For Rosita, a former Bay Ridge resident, the victory was especially meaningful because she was able to share it with friends and family members in attendance.
“It was crazy,” she told the Eagle after the match. “To get to perform in my hometown and to come out and see so many people stand up. I couldn’t believe it!” read more »

Now That’s a Tag Team! Editor Welcomes TNA Prez

Bay Ridge Eagle Editor-in-Chief Rick Buttacavoli (left) was thrilled to welcome TNA Wrestling President Dixie Carter to Brooklyn on Saturday, July 21. Carter thanked Buttacavoli for his promotion of her company’s third annual “Basebrawl” event at MCU Park, which drew thousands of cheering fans. Carter called MCU Park the most beautiful venue for a house show she has seen. Buttacavoli, who was given VIP access to the event, said meeting Carter was one of the evening’s most exciting highlights. Thousands of Fans Cheer TNA Wrestling Stars

Thousands of fans flooded MCU Park in Coney Island Saturday night to cheer for their favorite TNA Wrestling Superstars, as the company’s third annual “Basebrawl” tour touched down in Brooklyn. Prior to the event, fans who had purchased a VIP ticket package got the unique opportunity to meet several “Impact Wrestling” stars, including Kazarian, Robbie E., Mr. Anderson, Gail Kim, Christy Hemme and Brooklyn’s own Rosita. read more »

“Play brawl!”
The stars of Total Nonstop Action’s “Impact Wrestling” program are coming to MCU Park  on Saturday, July 21, and they’re looking for a fight.
Luckily, TNA officials have assured the Bay Ridge Eagle that the pro wrestling superstars will not leave Brooklyn disappointed, and neither will the thousands of fans expected to attend the company’s third annual live event at the ballpark.
Several matches have already been booked for the show, which provides fans of the sport the unique opportunity of seeing their favorite wrestlers up close and personal. read more »

Wrestling Stars Throw Out First Pitch Tonight!

Pro wrestling superstars “The Phenomenal” A.J. Styles and Rosita have participated in all types of matches inside the squared circle, but tonight, June 29, they will face a new challenge in front of thousands of screaming Brooklynites – throwing out the first pitch at MCU Park before the Brooklyn Cyclones take the field against the Aberdeen Iron Birds. The two stars will then sign autographs for fans during the game.
“I’m excited about it,” Styles told the Eagle during an exclusive interview this week. “It’s always a good time when I get there.”
Styles will be visiting Brooklyn for the third straight year as part of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling’s innovative “Basebrawl” tour, through which the company’s biggest stars perform at various minor league ballparks. The event provides plenty of opportunities for fans to interact with their favorite superstars, with special backstage passes and VIP ticket packages made available. read more »
