Senator Martin Golden (R,C,I-Brooklyn) and Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis (R,C-Brooklyn, Staten Island) recently celebrated the 68th Precinct Youth Council’s baseball season opening day. Joining members of the Capetanakis family who play in the league, the legislators enjoyed a day of baseball and helped ring in the start of a new season full of opportunities for Bay Ridge’s youth.

Steve Saviolakis, owner of Anopoli Ice Cream Parlor on Third Avenue, accepts a certificate from Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis, who stopped by this week to congratulate him on the shop’s 115th anniversary. Malliotakis called Anopoli “a staple of Bay Ridge for generations.” Anopoli is a favorite stop for ice cream lovers in the community.

Bay Ridge Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis attended a meeting of Boy Scout Pack 518 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church to congratulate the youngsters on their participation in the 2012 Pinewood Derby.
The Pinewood Derby, a tradition of the Boy Scouts of America, is a race in which the participants make their own miniature race cars from a block of wood and other minimal materials. This year’s race took place on Feb. 10.
Malliotakis presented the local scouts with certificates of merit. She also spoke to the scouts about her job as a state legislator.
