Hit or Miss Treasures is a used furniture, antiques and jewelry emporium that brings out the hunter in all of its customers.

The store is packed with merchandise. From the front windows, filled with gorgeous beads and crystals, to the tables outside the door, stacked with socks and other personal items, there is something in this spot for just about everyone.

Upon entering the shop, jewelry, all of which is new, spreads from the front window to alongside an entire wall and the front counter area. You can find necklaces, bracelets and earrings for every imaginable style or trend. Colorful beads are strung and hung aloft. read more »

Community Helps Credit Union Celebrate 78th Year

A credit union that was born in the midst of the nation’s Great Depression in the 1930s is still alive and kicking in 2012.

The Bay Ridge Federal Credit Union marked its 78th anniversary by throwing a dinner party at the Bay Ridge Manor on April 4 and inviting hundreds of the community’s movers and shakers to help celebrate the milestone. read more »

Women’s Business Group Honors Spa Owners

The co-owners of a Bay Ridge spa will be the guests of honor at a luncheon hosted by the organization New York State Women Inc. this Saturday.

Sheila Brody and Maria Ingardia, co-owner of the Green Spa & Wellness Center on Third Avenue have been named Women of the Year by the organization.

New York State Women Inc., formerly known as the Business and Professional Women’s Club, promotes the business and economic interests of women.

The luncheon will take place on Saturday, April 14, at Sirico’s at 8023 13th Ave. at 12:30 p.m. Patricia Laudano and Janet Gounis are the co-chairs of the Luncheon Committee.
