Thousands of people came to Shore Road Park at 79th Street to enjoy a concert by ABBA Girlz, an ABBA tribute band, Tuesday night.

Viva Rosita! Brooklyn’s hometown girl made good on her promise to entertain her fans on Saturday, July 21, as she defeated TNA Knockouts legend Gail Kim in front of thousands of supporters at MCU Park.
Kim and Rosita, who was joined at ringside by Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg, did battle as part of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling’s annual “Basebrawl” event. The Brooklyn show was the pro wrestling company’s biggest non-televised event of the year, according to TNA officials.
For Rosita, a former Bay Ridge resident, the victory was especially meaningful because she was able to share it with friends and family members in attendance.
“It was crazy,” she told the Eagle after the match. “To get to perform in my hometown and to come out and see so many people stand up. I couldn’t believe it!” read more »

Bay Ridge — Rain didn’t dampen the enthusiasm for the first night of “Summer Stroll on 3rd,” the eagerly anticipated event designed to open Third Avenue up to pedestrians and shoppers.
Thousands of people turned out to enjoy a carefree stroll on the vehicle-free avenue on the night of July 20.

Thousands of Fans Cheer TNA Wrestling Stars

Thousands of fans flooded MCU Park in Coney Island Saturday night to cheer for their favorite TNA Wrestling Superstars, as the company’s third annual “Basebrawl” tour touched down in Brooklyn. Prior to the event, fans who had purchased a VIP ticket package got the unique opportunity to meet several “Impact Wrestling” stars, including Kazarian, Robbie E., Mr. Anderson, Gail Kim, Christy Hemme and Brooklyn’s own Rosita. read more »

Partial Building Collapse Leads to Total Demolition

Bay Ridge — All it took was water to topple the unoccupied eyesore that caused residents of two neighboring Ovington Avenue buildings to evacuate their homes after it partially collapsed early Monday morning, witnesses said.
“The building came down with just a water spray. Unbelievable!” said a photographer at the scene late Monday afternoon. read more »

Sponsored by the Arab-American Association of New York, the bazaar featured Middle Eastern music, chicken kebabs, fruit smoothies, rides for children, and tents in which vendors sold such items as handmade head scarves for women. read more »
