Fifth Ave. Business Spotlight: Can’t-Miss ‘Treasures’ For Sale at Hit or Miss

Hit or Miss Treasures is a used furniture, antiques and jewelry emporium that brings out the hunter in all of its customers.

The store is packed with merchandise. From the front windows, filled with gorgeous beads and crystals, to the tables outside the door, stacked with socks and other personal items, there is something in this spot for just about everyone.

Upon entering the shop, jewelry, all of which is new, spreads from the front window to alongside an entire wall and the front counter area. You can find necklaces, bracelets and earrings for every imaginable style or trend. Colorful beads are strung and hung aloft. read more »

Ice Cream Parlor Owner Scoops Up Award

Steve Saviolakis, owner of Anopoli Ice Cream Parlor on Third Avenue, accepts a certificate from Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis, who stopped by this week to congratulate him on the shop’s 115th anniversary. Malliotakis called Anopoli “a staple of Bay Ridge for generations.” Anopoli is a favorite stop for ice cream lovers in the community.

Yummy! Leske’s Bakery To Reopen

Everyone in Bay Ridge is happy about the reopening of Leske’s Bakery, even Eddie the Eagle! The famous Brooklyn Eagle mascot paid a visit to the bakery a few years ago.

A Bay Ridge foodie’s paradise is rising from the dead!

Leske’s Bakery, which closed in May, is making a comeback, according to state Sen. Marty Golden, and other local officials, who said the shop will reopen in approximately two months under new ownership.

Leske’s is located at 7612 Fifth Ave.

Golden called the reopening “exciting news” and said that even though the bake shop will have new owners, the same bakers will be working there. read more »
