Fontbonne Hall Academy honored its student athletes at its annual end-of-school-year sports awards dinner, held May 23 at St. Patrick’s auditorium.
Athletic Director Donna Schirippa thanked the faculty, coaches and parents for their cooperative effort in another successful season that saw more than half of school’s enrollment of 500 girls participate in competitive sport programs.
The softball, volleyball, swimming and cheerleading teams were among those recognized.
This year’s softball team honored Alan James, the recently departed longtime coach who passed away just prior to the season, with the presentation of the first annual Alan James Memorial Award to the top achiever on this year’s Varsity squad, Maria Serrantino.
