St. Patrick’s Men’s Club To Meet

The St. Patrick’s Men’s Club is looking for a few more good men to attend its general meeting on Tuesday, June 5 at 7:30 p.m. Weather permitting, the meeting will be held in St. Patrick’s Gardens, near the school, 401 97th St. All club members are welcome and men of the parish are invited.

“The St. Patrick’s Men’s Club was formed to promote a spirit of brotherhood among parish men,” club President Patrick Gilbride said. “All men of the parish are invited to join us on June 5 and see what the club is all about.”

On Sunday, June 10, members will celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi, which is dedicated to Jesus in Holy Communion. St. Patrick’s Parish will conduct a special liturgy at 12:30 p.m. mass with a Eucharistic procession afterward.
All parishoners, societies, committees and sports groups are invited to attend the 12:30 p.m. mass. The Eucharistic procession, immediately following the mass, will travel from St. Patrick’s Church to Visitation Monastery, at 89th Street and Ridge Boulevard. A special invitation is extended to the parish’s First Holy Communion children to attend, dressed in their First Communion dresses and suits. Confirmation candidates are also invited to attend in their confirmation gowns.

St. Patrick’s Men’s Club Founder and Chairman Jim Lamond said, “The Feast of Corpus Christi, or the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ, as it is often called today, goes back to the 13th century, but it celebrates something far older – the institution of the Sacrament of Holy Communion at the Last Supper.”
