The family of Henry Garcia, the 13-year-old boy who was hit by a car and killed on Saturday, needs financial help in order to pay the costs of the youngster’s wake and funeral, according to a local church pastor.
The Rev. Michael Louis Gelfant, pastor of Saint Finbar Catholic Church, who is working with the family to plan the boy’s funeral, said donations are being sought to assist the family during this devastating time.
The boy’s funeral will take place tomorrow morning, 10:45 a.m., at Saint Finbar Church. Henry was struck and killed by a green SUV on 20th Avenue and 80th Street. The driver fled the scene, police said.
